Welcome to Brass City Charter School!

BCCS has the honor of being Waterbury’s only charter school. However, it is also in the enviable position of being part of a national movement to bring innovation and accountability to our public school system.

2020-2021 will mark our eighth year of operation. This year we are a fully rolled out prek through grade 8 school and will celebrate in June our first eighth grade graduation. The school is open to all Waterbury residents.

At BCCS, we recognize that the number one factor impacting student achievement is teacher quality. We seek skilled, intelligent, warm, compassionate, and motivated individuals who share our Mission and Values.

Our teachers have dedicated time in their schedules several times per week for collaboration with grade team partners, and the Principal provides ongoing support and frequent feedback. New teachers participate in Connecticut’s TEAM (Teacher Education and Mentoring) program.
